HIGH SCHOOL

Within the Portuguese curriculum, students follow an academic plan connected to the national educational programme, allowing them to graduate with a Portuguese High School Diploma through our partnership with Colégio do Calvão.

Throughout the academic year, students receive regular academic monitoring and structured feedback, ensuring their progress remains aligned with the requirements of the Portuguese education system and preparation for national examinations.

At the same time, students complete the American High School curriculum through SAI Academy, a fully accredited U.S. institution specialised in the development of student-athletes.

The programme is delivered through an online learning platform, where students follow courses selected together with their families according to their academic goals and future university plans.

Each student receives continuous academic monitoring, with regular progress updates provided to families throughout the week.

Upon completion, students graduate with an American High School Diploma that is fully NCAA eligible, keeping open the possibility of pursuing university and athletic opportunities in the United States.

All academic work takes place within the PFA Academic Hub, a structured study environment created specifically for our athletes.

The Hub is supervised daily by Learning Coaches, who guide students through their academic responsibilities, support time management, and ensure consistent progress in both educational systems.

This environment allows students to study in a focused and organised setting while benefiting from direct academic guidance whenever needed.

This model was designed to be integrated and balanced, ensuring that academic development and football training complement one another rather than compete for time.

The adapted daily schedule allows students to dedicate full focus to each part of their day - training in the morning and structured academic work in the afternoon - enabling them to maximise both their athletic and academic performance within a demanding and disciplined environment.

Beyond completing their diplomas, this pathway prepares students for future university opportunities and long-term personal development.

Through the American curriculum, athletes maintain eligibility for NCAA college pathways, while the overall structure of the programme helps them develop independence, responsibility, and the ability to manage both sport and academics at a high level.

Learning to balance these responsibilities from a young age equips our student-athletes with the skills required to succeed both on and off the field.
