A Legacy of Excellence

Born on 28 November 1971 in Lisbon, Portugal, Carlos André’s football journey began with Porto Salvo during his youth and led to a remarkable professional career spanning multiple leagues and countries. His Primeira Liga debut on 15 March 1992 with Estoril against Salgueiros was just the start of a journey marked by skill, resilience, and an unwavering love for the game.

Career Highlights

As a midfielder standing at 1.79m (5 ft 10½ in), Carlos’s playing career was both diverse and impactful:

• Beira-Mar (1992–1999): Over 100 appearances, 7 goals, and countless unforgettable moments.

• Gil Vicente (2000–2001): A standout season with 5 goals in 41 appearances.

• Adventures Abroad: Represented Walsall (England), Ahlen (Germany), and Unirea Urziceni (Romania), showcasing his adaptability and global appeal.

• SC Maia and other Primeira Liga clubs: Continued to perform at the highest levels in Portugal.

Transition to Coaching

Carlos transitioned seamlessly from player to coach, bringing his wealth of experience and sharp tactical acumen to teams and young players. Beginning with SC Beira-Mar in 2008, he quickly established himself as a top-tier coach. As the CEO and Head Coach of Pro-Football Academy Portugal, Carlos has spent over a decade mentoring aspiring players, instilling his philosophy of discipline, hard work, and resilience.
